Realisations.net - Shibuya Project

Video mirror wall

Shibuya, a gorgeously laid out Japanese restaurant, is one of the highlights of the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. The striking avant-garde design by Yabu Pushelberg houses a multi-screen piece of video art by Réalisations.net, viewed through hundreds of semi-transparent mirrors behind the sushi bar.

The 70 minutes of video content are inspired by the energy and simple boldness of Manga cartoons, the fluid imagery of fish and intricate lures that inhabit the space. To merge the video content with the external space design, images of elements of the room decor and furniture were integrated into the dreamlike underwater world.

Needlenose fish swim within layers of wood grain, among bamboo forests and wooden submarines, accompanied by fish made of colorful metals.
